I grew up in Massachusetts on the South Shore of Boston. My first exposure
to bluegrass was in the early '70's when a co-worker in a restaurant
turned me on to the flatpicking of Doc Watson and Dan Crary. When I moved
to Washington DC to attend college, my passion for this music heated up
even more. I remember hitchhiking out to Alexandria to catch the
Seldom Scene at the Birchmere. Since then, I've never looked back as this
music is a big part of my life.
My musical tastes are pretty diverse as well as deep but bluegrass remains
at the top of the heap. In addition to listening to as much music as
possible, I also like to play it. My main instrument is guitar but I can
also play some mandolin.
For the past nineteen years I have lived in New York City in the borough
of Manhattan with my wife, Anne and son, David (age 9 1/2). ˙My day job is
in the financial world. I am grateful to Roger for giving me the chance to
be part of this cool team. Also thanks to Terri ˙for getting me up and
running!
