Col Thomas Taylor was raised in the hills of Cooke County, TN, Then off to Korean War at age of 17 as a TN Volunteer. He returned to NC to marry a Blue Ridge Sweetheart and teach school for 41 years. He is a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College, Appalachian State University, Winthrop University and USC (Carolina) In the meantime served our country through the USAF and Air National Guard in NC during the Korean and Vietnam Wars until retirement. Currently Col Tom is retired and lives in Morganton, NC. He enjoys bluegrass music and country music and attended his first IBMA at Nashville in 2006. Col Tom grew up on music by Carl Story, Porter and Dolly, Lester Flatt and Earle Scruggs, Mac Wiseman, Bill and Charlie Monroe and lots of locals. He enjoys all kinds of music but bluegrass and country are special. Bluegrass and country are the only media that really touches our soul. No favorites but enjoy emerging artists as well as WOMEN IN BLUE, local bands, and international groups. Col Tom is an ardent supporter of our troops through Amateur Radio, military radio, Salvation Army, and The American Red Cross. So listen to Col Tom’s bluegrass/country Haven daily 9-12Noon Mondays and Thursdays for bluegrass and Tuesdays and Fridays for country legends with a Gospel show on Sunday from 2-4PM (all times eastern) . Requests are taken and played within a reasonable time during the show, time permitting. |
