DJ Peter Jay resides in France, but grew up in the UK during the Pirate radio era; he enjoyed listening to the offshore pirate stations so much that he decided that he wanted to get more involved. He got his wish and started working on the Offshore Radio Stations. After their demise in the late 60’s & 70’s due to the UK and Dutch Marine Offences Act’s, Peter got involved in the Land Based Radio scene working with London Based Radio Jackie, Kaleidoscope and WMR (which was based in Germany).

Peter was a regular for several years on the shortwave radio station ‘Radio Europe’ with his Country music and Oldies shows. Peter has also worked in Independent Local Radio in London and in the Midlands in the UK, as well as hospital radio and with his own mobile disco.

Peter currently splits his time between studio work, live bluegrass and country shows, DooWop and Oldies shows on the internet, FM and AM Radio stations across America and Europe. He also occasionally does syndicated shows as well as pre-recorded shows, as and when required.

Peter enjoys all kinds of music including Classical, Rock’n’Roll & DooWop, but his favorites are Country, Bluegrass, Mountain & Cajun music.

To date Peter has been working on radio for over 44 years and during that time has picked up numerous awards for top Radio DJ in the UK and Europe as well as several top Club DJ awards but above all he enjoys playing music and entertaining people. He says “I’m lucky I get to do a job I love. Not many people can say that.”
